Egya ZAMORA is a modern hatmaker with a vivid passion for all forms of art. Former photographer, pianist, sailor, knitter, painter and jeweller, she has now opened a hat making studio in Le Grau-du-Roi, the Southern France, on the littoral of the Mediterranean Sea – the famous Camargue natural park embracing the entire delta of the River Rhone know for its white horses, black bulls and pink flamingos. This is where she has found its home after have been born and raised in the Northern Europe.

Once she literally stumbled on a hat. Once classic and boring felt hat of hers thus turned into a nicely distressed piece of headwear that served as the prototype for her further hat making journey. Distressed hats have since became the main part of her artistry, in addition to classic local gardians’ (Camargue horse riders’, cowboys’) hats that has been the basic inspiration of Egya for launching into hat making.
